Development Budget Analyst

As an Analyst, Development Budget PureSky, you will play a crucial role in the financial planning and analysis of solar energy projects during their development phase. You will be responsible for creating, managing, and monitoring budgets, as well as providing insights that contribute to informed decision-making for successful project execution. This role requires a strong understanding of financial principles, project development processes, and the solar energy industry.
Responsibilities:
- Budget Creation and Management:
- Collaborate with project development teams to create detailed budgets for solar energy projects, considering various aspects such as equipment costs, construction expenses, permits, and contingency funds.
- Develop comprehensive financial models to estimate project costs and cash flow projections over the development timeline.
- Financial Analysis:
- Conduct thorough financial analysis to evaluate the financial feasibility of solar energy projects, taking into account expected revenue, expenses, financing costs, and potential risks.
- Identify key financial metrics and indicators to assess project performance and viability.
- Cost Control and Monitoring:
- Monitor project expenditures against established budgets and provide regular updates to project managers and stakeholders.
- Analyze cost variations, identify areas of concern, and recommend corrective actions to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Risk Assessment:
- Identify and assess financial and budgetary risks associated with solar energy projects and propose mitigation strategies.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to anticipate potential budget challenges and develop contingency plans.
- Financial Reporting:
- Prepare accurate and timely financial reports and presentations to communicate budgetary status, variances, and projections to project teams and senior management.
- Collaboration:
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and finance departments to align budgeting and financial strategies with project goals.
- Process Improvement:
- Continuously evaluate and improve budgeting processes, tools, and methodologies to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial planning.
- Other ad hoc projects, reports as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Solid understanding of financial concepts, budgeting techniques, and project finance principles.
- Experience in financial modeling, analysis, and budget management, preferably in the renewable energy sector or project development.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools such as Excel, financial modeling software, and ERP systems.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to accurately assess financial data and project costs.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of solar energy industry trends, technologies, and development processes is advantageous.
Salary:
Exempt Position – Annual Salary: $50,000.00 - $65,000.00 USD
Bonus Opportunity: 10% of annual salary
