Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Manager to oversee our accounts payable (AP) functions. The ideal candidate will ensure efficient processing of invoices, accurate financial record-keeping, and effective management of vendor relationships. This role will require strong leadership, organizational skills, and an understanding of accounting practices within the renewable energy industry.

This is a Hybrid position: Candidates must reside in Denver, Colorado or Toronto, Ontario where PureSky has offices. Must be in office 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounts Payable Management:

  • Lead and manage the daily accounts payable operations, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, purchase orders, and payment requests.
  • Oversee the reconciliation of accounts payable and vendor statements, ensuring all discrepancies are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitor aging reports and ensure the company adheres to payment terms with vendors and suppliers.
  • Implement and maintain effective controls to prevent errors or fraud in AP processes.

Team Leadership and Training:

  • Supervise and mentor the accounts payable team, ensuring high performance, continuous learning, and a positive work environment.
  • Provide guidance on complex invoices, vendor issues, and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and implement training for new and existing team members on AP processes, software, and company procedures.

Vendor Management:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure smooth and timely transactions.
  • Review and negotiate payment terms with key vendors when necessary.
  • Address and resolve vendor inquiries, disputes, and concerns in a professional manner.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts payable reports for senior management and auditors.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and legal regulations related to accounts payable.
  • Assist in year-end financial audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting materials.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline AP processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce costs, particularly through the adoption of automation tools and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the finance team to develop and implement improved workflows and procedures.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Experience in the renewable energy sector, particularly in solar power, is highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of NetSuite preferred.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to interact with both internal teams and external vendors.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Salary:

Annual Salary $85,000 - $100,000 USD

Bonus Opportunity: 20% of annual salary
