Position Overview:

As an Associate Project Operations in the solar and energy storage industry, you will play a crucial role in supporting the planning, execution, and monitoring of solar energy projects. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful implementation and operation of solar power plants throughout the US. The position will report to the Director of Project Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Coordination: Work closely with various departments, including development, engineering, procurement, and finance, to ensure seamless coordination and communication during project late-stage project development and construction.

  • Support Financial Closes: Complete various project management and documentation tasks to help late-stage solar and energy storage projects secure tax equity and debt investments.

  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and data rooms, including project status reports, due-diligence Q/A logs, disclosure schedules, meeting minutes, and investor data rooms.

  • Vendor Coordination: Liaise with vendors, contractors, and consultants to ensure timely delivery of services required for project execution, including environmental and insurance reports.

  • Internal Quality Control Audits. Support the evaluation of in-house development projects and M&A assets to ensure that projects are de-risked and prepared for third-party due diligence before being presented to tax equity and debt markets.

  • Create summaries of permit conditions and other project obligations to help ensure a smooth transition from development to construction.

  • Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and resolving operational issues and challenges that may arise during project implementation, and actively track and communicate critical deadlines for under development and operational projects.

  • Support the creation of operational budget forecasts and handoff guides for the asset management team as project approach the end of construction.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Stay updated on the latest advancements and best practices in solar energy technology and project management. Share knowledge and insights with the team to drive continuous improvement and support a culture of learning.

  • Support the development of processes to more effectively develop, finance, and construct solar and energy storage projects.

  • Support cashflow forecasting, invoice / purchase order processing, and other accounting and budgeting adjacent tasks.

  • Support in drafting of application materials for solar incentive programs and other project specific programs as necessary. Keep track of required amendments and change modifications wherever relevant.

  • Be able to conduct internal meetings and perform other ad hoc projects, reports, and analysis as required.

What You Bring: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Renewable Energy, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with solar energy concepts, technologies, and project development processes.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders including local governments and regulatory bodies.

  • Proficiency in project management tools and software is a plus (Smartsheets, NetSuite, Microsoft office package).

  • Prior exposure to renewable energy project financing and regulatory landscape is an added advantage.

  • Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to overcoming challenges.

  • Passion for renewable energy and a commitment to sustainable practices.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites as needed.

Exempt Position – Annual Salary: $60,000.00- $90,000.00

Bonus Opportunity: 15% of annual salary
